Designing Comfort: Behind Our First Collection

When I began working on Sundae Club, I wanted to create more than pajamas. I wanted to design a feeling, the kind of calm that lingers when you are home, unhurried, and completely yourself.

The process started with fabric. I spent weeks exploring markets, talking to suppliers, and feeling endless swatches. I tried everything from linen to jersey, but nothing matched the quality and texture of Egyptian cotton. It is soft yet structured, cool in warm weather and warm in cool weather, and it only gets better with time. It felt like the perfect reflection of what Sundae Club stands for: timeless but fun comfort made to last.

The first samples were full of small lessons. Sleeves were too short, buttons were too shiny, hems didn’t fall quite right. Every adjustment brought us closer to what felt true. I wasn’t just designing sleepwear; I was designing how it feels to be at ease.

I wanted every set to have balance. Structured enough to feel refined, but soft enough to let you move naturally. The kind of piece you could wear while reading in bed, answering emails at home, or stepping outside for coffee.

Each detail was chosen with intention, the width of the cuffs, the length of the top, the exact shade of the fabric.

Designing comfort is about real life. It is about creating clothes that work for moments of stillness. Our first collection is a reflection of that idea: comfort as elegance, and softness as strength.
